It allows enthusiasts to practice their favourite activity in an idyllic setting in pursuit of numerous freshwater species. It is possible to fish for all species: trout on the Célé and carp, carnivores such as pike or perch in the river Lot. Fishing is another way to discover the Lot department and to travel through the 3 valleys of Vers, the Lot and also the Dordogne valley near places like Rocamadour or Saint-Cirq Lapopie! It is essential to have your fishing card in order to justify "I can't, I'm fishing". The Lot, it's a guarded fishery!

The labelled courses of fishing in the Lot are divided into 3 themes: Discovery, Family and Passion. The discovery of fishing in the Lot is obtained thanks to the easy access to the watercourse. Moreover, the catches are relatively easy because of regular releases of trout in spring and for some places in summer. These discovery courses are located on the Bave, the Vers, the Saint-Matré stream, the Surgié lake and the Célé in Figeac. The idea is the same as for the discovery with the addition of activities for the whole family, with games for children and authorised swimming. Cahors has this type of course but with a passion label, it offers night carp, no-kill pike, family fishing and 2 handi-fishing pontoons on the Lot. There are many fishing spots on the Lot but also on the Dordogne, at Mareuil, Lanzac, Lacave and on the Mézel lake at Vayrac.
